Sciatica and pain into the legs

Pain into the legs

Low back pain that refers into a leg is often called "sciatica" but is not necessarily sciatic nerve trouble.

True sciatic nerve pain is usually caused by compression of the largest nerve in the body - the sciatic nerve. The pain can be anything form a minor annoyance to beyond the worst imaginable..

David is well placed and trained to diagnose the condition and refer patients into the medical system as necessary.

A chiropractor cannot treat genuine sciatic nerve compression.

However, he will be able to help with low back and pelvis mechanical issues which can often aggravate a nerve compression. Working alongside medical care can speed recovery.

Dysfunction in the sacroiliac joint, or SI joint, is thought to cause low back and/or leg pain. The leg pain can be particularly difficult, and may feel similar to sciatica or pain caused by a lumbar disc herniation.
